First Annual
Louisiana Country Dance Hayride
April 25-27, 2008

Alexandria- the geographic center of Louisiana – the original capitol of the state of Louisiana, the original home of LSU, the site of the Louisiana Maneuvers, and the planning of some of the greatest battles of WWII.

The First Annual Louisiana Country Dance Hayride will be held in Alexandria, Louisiana on the weekend of April 25-27, 2008. It is a first year provisionally sanctioned American Country Dance Association (ACDA) event which means that a competitor can use it as a qualifying event for Nationals.

The event will be held at the Best Western Inn and Suites of Alexandria, located at 2720 North MacArthur Drive in Alexandria. To make reservations, call (318) 445-5530 and ask for the “Hayride” rates ($76.00/Kings or Doubles; $90.00/Deluxe two room suites).

The event will include Pro am, Pro Pro, Team, Couples, Line dance, Pro am Swing Hustle, Jack and Jill. We will also have workshops running throughout the weekend. We have a crawfish boil planned for Friday night and a very special meal (Taste of Louisiana) on Saturday night, followed by an awesome variety show. CASH PRIZES will be awarded for top male and female instructor in pro am.

In the middle of all of this, there will be plenty of open dancing to quench your dancing fetish and vendors to visit to help you with your dancing necessities.
